In Review: Kent & Bond – Organic Soaps

With the wide variety of soaps and grooming products on the market today, it can be an overwhelming task to find quality products that are crafted with care and integrity. Look no further than Kent & Bond. With the recent launch of their full product line, I have grown quite fond of what they have to offer. As of now, I’ve tried all of 5 of their “Body Bricks”. These organic soap bars are made using a variety of carefully sourced organic ingredients. Each bar provides its very own unique and intriguing scent.

This was the first of the five body bricks I had the pleasure of trying.  Made with an array of essential oils, organic peppermint leaf, menthol crystals, and rosemary extract, it left my skin tingling once the rich later washed away. I really enjoyed the crisp and refreshing peppermint scent and also how smooth it left my skin feeling.

CHARCOAL PINECharcoal_Box_Brick_large

Definitely one of the most unique soaps I’ve ever tried, but in the best way. Infused with activated charcoal, a natural cleanser that works hard to remove toxins and other impurities, it made for an interesting shower-time experience. With a gritty texture, my skin was left gently exfoliated and with a delightful piney scent, I couldn’t ask for more from a bar of soap. The lather gave off a grey color but it simply rinsed away leaving my skin clean and smooth.

I felt like a true mountain man after using this bar, I had no other choice but to wear a flannel every day that I used it. Crafted to encompass the great outdoors, this bar is made with a blend of pine and juniper essential oils along with finely ground juniper berries to exfoliate that tough nature-worn skin.

I am a big fan of the cedarwood scent, so this was one of my favorite bars to try.  Accompanying me on my travels to California last week, this bar left me smelling as fresh as they come, each and every day. Also with a gritty texture becauseof the chia seed blended into it, it worked hard to cleanse and leave my skin feeling smooth.

What caught my eye first about this bar was the vibrant blue color. Inspired by the sea, it gave off a light and crisp scent that I really grew fond of. Using a blend of Litsea essential oil and hints of driftwood, I felt like I was bathing in the ocean every time I used it. It was enhanced with sea salt to give it a pumice-like texture to exfoliate and cleanse my skin. The whole combination made for a truly enjoyable experience.

It took me a little over a month to try all 5 of these soaps. I mean really try them, multiple times, with different washing apparatuses, to really get the full effect and true experience of what they had to offer. I can honestly say that Kent & Bond have some special products here. If you’re into handcrafted small batch organic soaps and grooming products, this is the brand for you. Not only did each bar leave me smelling great, they all left my skin feeling smooth too. I really enjoyed that eaIMG_5508ch bar had its own unique properties, providing a little something for everybody.
