Vegan Friendly Colorado – The St. Julien Hotel & Spa

Ahhh, back again to stay at one of our favorite hotels in the beautiful town of Boulder, CO. Last year, Jasmine and I had the pleasure of spending a little time at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa while on our road trip, which you can read about here. Since we loved it so much, we decided to come back for a second time and get a true St. Julien experience. We spent 5 nights and 6 days enjoying the scenic views, delicious food, and various vegan-friendly amenities the hotel offers.

The St. Julien stands out among other hotels for a host of reasons. From the options offered at their on-site restaurant Jill’s, to their spa packages, and all of the details in between, the St. Julien Hotel makes for the perfect retreat for vegans and eco-conscious consumers alike. Also, their commitment to sustainability is second to none. Using 100% reusable compostable cups, actively cutting their waste, they’ve worked to save over 45 truckloads of garbage from entering landfills over the past year, pretty cool, eh?

The Spa Experience

The Spa experience at the hotel was also second to none. I’ve only had a few massages and “spa treatments” in my life, but this was by far the

most relaxing and luxurious I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Jasmine and I both tried “The Pampered Vegan” package, which included a vegan body scrub, using 100 percent organic sunflower oil and finely ground sugar,  a full-body massage with a custom essential oil blend, and a warm scalp massage using wild lime and avocado oils. We thought it was pretty incredible that the St Julien offers a vegan-specific spa package. The name is very fitting as I definitely felt pampered! Afterword my skin was glowing
and my hair was smooth with a scent of lime and avocado.

Jill’s Restaurant + Vegan Buffet

Jill’s Restaurant at the hotel was one of our favorite places to sit and enjoy the energy and atmosphere of Boulder. Their menu offers a varied selection of vegan options, which are distinctly marked with a yellow circle with a “V” located in the center. The options range from green curry tofu to flatbreads, and handful of other culinary selections. On Fridays specifically, they offer a 100% vegan lunch buffet, which we had the pleasure of enjoying this year, as well as last 😃 This all-you-can-eat wonderland was filled with an array of different pizzas, soups, salads, and entrees, as well as a full dessert selection of cakes, cookies, and beyond. Needless to say, Jasmine and I ate until our hearts were content (and then some).
Jasmine and I also were able to take advantage of the complementary bike rental the St Julien offers. Conveniently located right behind the hotel is a beautiful bike path that stretches for miles into downtown boulder and out to the Flatiron Mountains. It was a real treat to start our days causing along the path soaking in the fresh mountain air!
The hotel also offers a fully equipped gym that we took advantage each morning—the chilled towels were a very nice touch! Also, a few nights a week, the hotel hosts live music to really get the atmosphere buzzing!

Disclaimer: I was provided with a discounted stay and meals at  the St. Julien Hotel & Jill’s Restaurant to review on my blog, but all of the opinions shared are my own. I would not feature this experience on my page unless I loved it! Thank you for supporting Conscious Chris!
